Who are the others to us? Is the other something we encounter, or something we construct in order to define ourselves? Does distance still exist, or do we live within a proximity we choose not to acknowledge? And what does it mean, instead, to turn away? Are we still capable of recognizing ourselves in others, or do we need them to remain irreducibly foreign?
Filanda presents The Others, a project curated by RARE with the collaboration of Fondazione PL24 that will take place on 30th April until 28th June 2026 in Trissino (VI).
The participating artists are Adel Abdessemed, Massimo Bartolini, Francisco Goya, Max Klinger, Jannis Kounellis, Ana Mendieta, Susana Pilar, Gerhard Richter, Pipilotti Rist, Mimmo Rotella, Arcangelo Sassolino.
Massimo Bartolini as tutor presents Il buono e il cattivo, a project organized by Associazione Arte Continua in the Sollicciano prison.
Wang Bing documentaries will be hosted by Cinema Filanda along the exhibition time.
